Selichot Program and Service with Rabbi Linda
Maimonides teaches that true repentence (teshuvah) occurs when someone has the opportunity of committing a chet (sin) again, and he/she refrains from doing so because they have repented.
In the movie Groundhog Day, we watch as Bill Murray gets to relive the same day over and over again and work at repairing his errors. Come see this movie (again) and learn its lessons on teshuvah. How can we apply those lessons to our lives this year?
We will then turn to the beautiful contemplative music of BIMAS, as we change our Torah covers into their High Holy Day white covers then Rabbi Linda will lead us in Selichot prayers to help us transition to this season of Teshuvah/return/repentance.
*Please bring drinks, movie snacks or a dessert to share.*
