Adva Chattler served in the Israeli Air Force in Intelligence and has her Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution and Management from Ben-Gurion University. The subject of peace education has been explored in different ethnic groups and nations, with varying educational models. The aim of this presentation is to shine a light on the different views of peace education, with a focus on the Israeli - Arab-Bedouin conflict. Specifically, Adva will compare and contrast Jewish and Arab-Bedouin teachers’ attitudes and perceptions of responsibility concerning peace education. In her research, she used in-depth interviews to learn about the teacher’s beliefs, challenges, fears, and hopes concerning peace education. In this presentation, she will offer another aspect of the conflict, the way educators from both sides view it and the ways they transfer their views and knowledge to the next generations of Jewish and Arab citizens in the state of Israel.
