We believe in teaching methodology that encourage students to grapple with their own beliefs and values. Our teaching includes a naturalist-humanist approach to all aspects of Jewish civilization combined with a deep respect for diversity of belief and practice among our students and their parents.

Beth Israel Honors CAADC with Friend of the Community Award | Jewish Exponent
Congregation Beth Israel of Media established an annual festival to honor the memory and life of ELIANA ANDERSEN, daughter of Kathy Silberman Andersen and Dan Andersen, sister of Molly, and granddaughter of the late Ruth and Alexander Silberman. Ellie, a beloved fifth grader in our Hebrew School, died on July 25, 2003 after a courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Ellie loved school, her friends and family, and celebrations of all kinds. By combining Ellie’s loves in a festival of the arts, we give our children (and adults) a joyous event to look forward to each year, as well as reflect the Jewish tradition of “hiddur mitzvah,” enhancing community by creating beauty and art.
