"May God turn the hearts of the parents to their children,
and the hearts of the children to their parents."
Beth Israel offers 2 education programs for our youngest children. Both programs are open to non-members
The Mechina (Pre-school) Sunday Program
The preschool Mechina students dive into an art project at the start of each class, based on the closest Jewish holiday. Fun and reinforcement of knowledge go hand in hand, as class continues with snack and discussion, circle time and table time. Parents are invited in for the culminating moment, when the children share what they made and what they learned.
Mechina meets one Sunday per month during school year, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Gan (Kindergarten) Sunday Program
Family education is the goal of the kindergarten Gan class, in which each child is accompanied by a parent or grandparent, increasing greatly the joy in learning . Through art, cooking, story time, holiday snacks, movement, and games, the nine classes follow the cycle of Jewish festivals, plus Shabbat, morning and bedtime rituals, and the aleph-bet. Helpful tips on how to increase Jewish observance in our lives are shared, as we build class community.
Gan meets one Sunday per month during school year, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the exception of one Saturday Family Education day where parents can become active learners as we guide them in teaching their own children the joys of being Jewish.
